• Abstract:
  
  Attempts to generate web service source code fails when target
  runtime server is WebSphere Process Server
  
  Problem:
  
  When the target runtime server setting for the project is
  WebSphere Process Server and trying to generate the web service
  code from XSD file, the generation will fail with following
  error:
  
  'generate web service source code fails when target runtime
  server is WebSphere Process Server'
  
  Local fix:
  
  1) Go to Window-?Preferences-?Server-?Runtime Environments
  2) Click on 'Add'
  3) Select WebSphere Application Server 7.0. Click Next
  4) Browse for the install directory for WPS (e.g. 'C:\Program
  Files\IBM\WebSphere\AppServer').
  5) Click Finish

  When targeting the WebSphere Process Server, the web service
  emitter commands are looking specifically for the supported
  runtime identifiers, such as ids for the various versions of
  WebSphere Application Server.
  

Problem conclusion

• Compatible runtime identifiers, such as those for WebSphere
  Process Server, are now checked as part of the web service
  emitter commands.  The fix for this APAR is included in
  Rational Application Developer v8.0.4.1.
